Hapkido is a traditional Korean martial art that is very beneficial for both the body and mind of any individual, regardless of age and background.

Hapkido is a martial art based on the aspect of self-defense. You will learn joint locking, submission, striking, sparring, weapons and throwing techniques. Classes and training will be tailored to the physical capabilities of the students in order to practically and effectively teach them techniques in a systematic manner. One of the most important things of training in martial arts is the training of the mind and spirit of each individual. As they grow and improve physically, it is equally important that they learn the integrity, respect, courage, understanding and diligence that is expected of a martial artist.

As a younger student of Hapkido, you will learn many character building life skills such as etiquette and respect, to yourself, your friends and family, your elders and even your enemies. A martial artist must always be humble in their teachings and learnings. You will learn to be self-confident and rational, learn how to analyze situations and think as a martial artist, and learn about thinking logically and keeping yourself in emotional check.

The physical benefits of starting physical activities and sports at a young age goes without saying, but what makes martial arts special is the spiritual and mental growth, and the pride of being a martial artist.
