Auto Care Classes

Call or come in to register for a class! Choose your own date and time that works best for your schedule during our hours of operation!

Cost

$10 per person per class.

Registration Information

Customer must make an appointment one week in advance. Call or stop by the facility to choose a date and time for class during hours of operation.

Up to 20 patrons max per class.

TIRE CARE CLASS

Learn the basics of your vehicle tires! This class teaches you all you need to know about tires, such as:

  • What the data on the side of a tire means.
  • Tire wear patterns and what's causing them.
  • How to mount and dismount tires.
  • Changing and plugging flats on the side of the road.
BASIC BRAKE SERVICE CLASS

Learn the basics of your vehicle's brakes! This class will teach you all you need to know about brakes, such as:

  • How to change your brake pads, rotors and shoes and/or drums.
  • How to turn your rotors and/or drums.
  • Proper service on brakes to insure longer life out of your pads.
BASIC CAR CARE CLASS

Learn the basics of car care that all vehicle owners should know, such as:

  • How to inspect and what to inspect for on your vehicle.
  • How to change engine oil and filter.
  • Where components are and how to check fluid levels.
MERIT BADGE CAR CARE

This is good opportunity to receive' Car Care Merit Badget' for Scouts. Car Care provides requirements to conduct the basic inspection items for all car owners to know.

Car Care Class provides how to identify all the inspection items of vehicle and hands on experience.

Inspection Items includes:

  • General Maintenance
  • Dashboard
  • Oil levels for power steering, brakes and antifreeze
  • Air Filters (engine and cabin)
  • Belts
  • Battery
  • Tires
  • Brake Pads
  • Wiper Blades
  • Lights
  • Change engine oil/filter (hands on experience)
  • Chage spare tire (identify location of spare tire and tools) (hands on experience)
  • All components that are located under the vehicle (engine, transmission, CV axles, exhaust, suspension)

Cost:

  • $10.00 per patron. (Scout Master must have two certified scout guardians in attendance to conduct training)
  • Class is approximately 2 hours.

BASIC ALIGNMENT CLASS

Learn the basics conducting a vehicle alignment with hands on doing an alignment from start to finish.

AUTO SKILLS SAFETY ORIENTATION CLASS

To be able to use the Auto Skills Center, patrons are required to take a mandatory safety orientation. During class we cover rules, Regulations and policies. Those who finish the orientation will be given a DA Form 3031-1 Qualification Card, which patrons must display during use.

Cost:

This orientation is free. Please note that spaces are limited to 8 seats per class.

Registration required. All patrons must register by Noon on the day-of class.
